    2. The purpose and objectives of discipline

    The main purpose of the discipline is to develop students' holistic understanding of the possibilities, forms and methods of medical control in the health and sports training, as well as during physical rehabilitation, understanding the value of timely application of means of physical training for the prevention of diseases, as well as in complex regenerative treatment of patients varied profile.

    Problems of the discipline:

     analyze and predict the impact of physical activity on the body of persons engaged in physical exercises according to the medical monitoring and assign the appropriate rehabilitation measures in the recovery period.

     to plan and implement a means of physical rehabilitation in complex regenerative treatment of patients on inpatient, outpatient and sanatorium stages in diseases, injuries, injuries and after surgery, as well as in obstetric practice and pediatrics.

     diagnosis of health status, functional status, physical development and physical performance of healthy and sick;

     identification of indications and contraindications to physical rehabilitation;

     assessment of the adequacy of physical activity, prevention of diseases and injuries related to physical overexertion;

     timely provision of hospital care to patients, recovery of physical performance;

     Correction of physical rehabilitation programs of patients;

     secondary prevention of diseases;

     improvement of knowledge in the field of sports medicine and physical rehabilitation.

    As a result of studying the discipline a student must:

    know:

     have an understanding of sports medicine, to know its purpose and main objectives;

     importance of health (medical) control in recreational and sports training;

     basic tasks, forms and features of medical supervision during physical exercise;

     method of complex medical examination, including the study and evaluation of the physical development of the body and health of the individual functional abilities;

     analyze survey data and generate medical conclusion;

     the term "rehabilitation", the goals, objectives and main directions (aspects) rehabilitation;

     have an idea of "physical rehabilitation" (PR), define its goals, objectives, means and basic methodological principles,

     understand the importance of risk factors for a faster recovery of health, disability and disturbed functions of patients, improving the quality of life, prevent or eliminate the consequences of the pathological process;

     definition and features of the method of physiotherapy (physical therapy) as the primary means of risk factors to explain the mechanisms of therapeutic action of physical exercises and massage the body, to understand the basic principles of selection and dosing of physical activity;

     early signs of fatigue, prepathological and pathological conditions arising from inadequate physical activity, to know how to prevent them and to provide assistance in this emergency;

     prepathological the causes and pathological conditions, as well as risk factors for sudden death when irrational physical education and sport;

     optimal modes of physical activity to assign a steady patient, outpatient and sanatorium stages of rehabilitation treatment, their objectives and content, depending on the period of FG;

     basic tasks, especially the individual methods of exercise therapy and special exercises in the pathology of the internal organs, diseases and injuries of the nervous system, injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system, for surgical interventions, as well as in obstetric practice and pediatrics;

     definition, especially physical rehabilitation and explain the mechanisms of therapeutic action of physical exercise.

    To be able:

     identify key concepts of physical rehabilitation and sports medicine as a clinical discipline;

     give advice on choosing the most optimal type of exercise, recreation and fitness and train propulsion modes, depending on the physical condition;

     interpret changes in the basic physiological systems under the influence of physical activity of varying intensity;

     identify the external features of the various degrees of fatigue during exercise;

     be able to diagnose acute and chronic physical stress, as well as other diseases and injuries resulting from inadequate physical activities; own methods of emergency treatment and treatment of acute and chronic physical overstrain;

     make recommendations for medical, biological and other means of preventing fatigue and restore physical performance

     analyze the indications and contraindications for the use of means of DF in patients with different profiles;

     to carry out selection of the most effective means of risk factors, taking into account the clinical course of diseases (phase step, the degree of functional disorders), concomitant diseases, and also in accordance with the individual characteristics of the body: age, gender, functional ability, level of physical fitness and exercise tolerance;

     provide patients with recommendations for different profile independent of exercise as directed by the doctor, explaining the characteristics of self-control in the classroom;

     evaluate the effectiveness of the use of means of physical rehabilitation in the process of rehabilitation.
